28/09/2011 Creating a Wedding Album to Tell a Story
I often get asked lots of questions concerning wedding albums and one of the most regularly asked is ‘How many images do we get to choose for the final album?’. I would hate to demand a quantity of chosen images from my couples to feature in their wedding album, and so I don’t… Quite simply, depending upon which album is selected by the client, I will design it to tell a story of the wedding day. Upon completion of the album design, we get together for a coffee and make any amendments to the spreads. Often, we only swap out a small number of images, and the headache is taken out of selecting favourite photographs from the day… Simple!
This lovely completed album below was designed to tell the story of Katy and Peter’s beautiful wedding day and they made absolutely no changes to the final design of 24 spreads. No headaches for them and a quick turnaround on their wedding album. I am left with only one problem… I don’t want to hand it over!
14/09/2011 A Favourite Image from a Recent Wedding
This is just one favourite wedding image from Katy and Gareth’s recent wedding at Scalford Hall, Leicestershire. More images to follow once the new Mr & Mrs Stokes have been in to the studio to see their final images from their amazing wedding day.
01/09/2011 Welcome…
It’s taken me a couple of years to get my head around rebranding from ‘Artography’ to my new business name Lesley Bee Photography. Artography always felt a bit too ‘corporate and impersonal’ and I pride myself in offering the absolute opposite… a very personal service to all of my clients. Photographing weddings and portraits and working hard to ensure that each and every person I work with feels relaxed, and has fun in front of my camera is my ultimate goal.
Juggling my photography, my children, and dog walking… not forgetting my role as a wife (yes… Mr Bee comes at the bottom of the list but he knows that) – I haven’t had time to think straight some days, but now I have got my act together and decided to focus on a new direction for the Lesley Bee brand, including this new website, new logo etc . It was the obvious next move once I moved into my new studio over a year ago at the Atkins Building in Hinckley, Leicestershire. So, here it is… my new website. It’s still in its early stages but getting there. Please take a look around, browse my portfolio and if you are looking for a wedding or portrait photographer with an informal, fun approach, please call me on 01455 233224, or you can complete the ‘contact’ form on this website and I will get back to you with any information you require.
Hayley and Jon were married recently at the lovely, intimate venue Hothorpe Hall in Theddingworth, Leicestershire. Hayley is quite quiet and shy but such an adorable bride to photograph. Her bridesmaids were the complete opposite – very outgoing and a bit mad, but a great support to Hayley on her wedding day. The wedding ceremony was very emotional and it was interesting to hear from Hayley at their viewing recently, that she could hardly remember anything about the ceremony itself because she was so nervous and emotional. Their ceremony was followed by a blessing in the chapel at Hothorpe Hall and then out into the beautiful gardens to take some more photographs. If you would like to enquire about wedding photography please call Lesley Bee on 01455 233224.
Make up by Mia. Flowers were by Jilly Flowers, Hinckley who will be exhibiting at the Sketchley Grange Wedding Fayre on Sunday 25th September. Artography will also be exhibiting at the fair, so please come along and say hello. . .
I love my studio space at the Atkins Building. It’s light, airy and contemporary and always makes an impact when clients visit… I am also so delighted that the Atkins Building itself is the perfect space to take photographs using natural light. The newly built Hinckley College right next door, also offers some interesting backdrops for portrait photography. Take a look at some of these shots taken using natural light and the space around me. It was nice to walk around the building and outside space to create these shots of this lovely boy. Great fun.
28/06/2011 It’s All in the Detail…
You have most definitely put a lot of thought and expense into your wedding day and this will always includes the finer details – flowers, jewellery, head piece, shoes, the wine that you drink, the wedding breakfast food, the favours on the tables for guests, your gifts for the bridal party. The list is endless… Every couple I meet will spend a huge amount of time planning their wedding and there will be elements of the day that will have very personal meaning to the bride, the groom (or both), or perhaps even to the parents of the couple.
I have heard some lovely stories from clients about why they have chosen a particular flower or colour for their flowers, or why they are wearing a particular piece of jewellery, or chosen a certain piece of music for the ceremony. I consider it my job to ensure that these ‘finer details’ are photographed to form part of the story of the wedding day, and of course to feature in the final wedding album design. Take a look at some of the lovely details shots below. I could tell you a story about many of them. You can visit my website at www.weddingsbyartography.co.uk to see my wedding photography portfolio. 09/11/2010 Pre Wedding Shoots in Leicester
Last week I met up with two lovely couples who are both getting married at The City Rooms in Leicester and I am very much looking forward to being part of both of their wedding days. Firstly, I caught up with Katie & Gareth, who will be getting married on 11th December this year. Followed by Billy & Lisa, who tie the knot in January 2011. The pre wedding shoot is such a great way of catching up with couples who have booked me for their wedding day. It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on their plans and it is the perfect opportunity to take some informal photographs, have a bit of fun and get to know each other a little better. Billy was also the Best Man at a wedding I photographed on Saturday over at the Draycote Hotel, in Thurlaston, Warwichshire, so we had another opportunity to catch up, the day after our meeting over in Leicester. This pre wedding shoot is included in some of my album packages. For more information on my wedding photography packages you can contact me on 01455 233224. If you would like to have an informal chat about your wedding I am happy to meet you at my studio / office at the Atkins Building, Lower Bond Street, Hinckley.
